  • Te Waikoropupū Springs, the largest cold water springs in the Southern Hemisphere whose clarity is guarded by resident female taniwha Huriawa
  • Pupu Hydro Walkway, follows an impressive hillside water race, originally built for gold-mining then reused for hydro power
  • Wharariki Beach, spectacular rock arches with pools of playful seal pups for you to enjoy up close, plus other Cape Farewell walks
  • The Grove Scenic Reserve and Labyrinth Rocks, easily accessible limestone marvels, and great fun for kids!
  • Wainui Falls, largest in Golden Bay/Mohua and a lovely half hour river walk to boot...
  • Classic Abel Tasman golden sand and crystal sea walks from Wainui and Tōtaranui
  • On your way to Wainui, stop by the Abel Tasman National Monument, commemorating the Dutch Explorer Abel Janszoon Tasman's visit to Golden Bay in 1642
  • Rawhiti Cave, Lonely Planet describes as 'geological eye-candy'. Experienced cavers are also drawn to the area for Harwoods Hole, at 183m New Zealand's deepest vertical shaft.
  • Cobb Valley walks and scenery, the drive itself is spectacular!
  • Aorere Goldfields, site of one of the country's earliest gold rushes
  • Climbers are attacted to the hard limestone crags at Paynes Ford and Pohara sea cliffs, so much so that there is dedicated accommodation at Hangdog Camp near Paynes Ford
